About the Rebuilding Childhoods Board

The Rebuilding Childhoods Board (RC Board) is one of four fundraising boards that partners with the NSPCC to support with fundraising and awareness raising of vital campaigns. We aim to raise around £500,000 per year and primarily focus our fundraising on the life-changing NSPCC post-sexual abuse services, Letting the Future In, and the Lighthouse, with the aim to support those children and their families who have suffered abuse rebuild their lives.

The RC Board was formed in 2005 by Ramez Sousou and has raised over £20 million to date. Ramez brought together a core group of Private Equity individuals who went on to fund the Private Equity Foundation. Following Ramez Sousou, Karen Jones CBE took over as Chair. Karen chaired the Board until late 2010 and was succeeded by Tarek Khlat MBE in late 2010 until Autumn 2015 when Diala Khlat MBE took over. Diala Khlat MBE managed the board until 2020 when the current board Chair David Tait MBE took over the management.

David Tait, MBE, RC Board Chair
‘My own personal journey is closely linked to my support of the NSPCC, and I am proud to Chair the Rebuilding Childhoods Board as we directly support their vital post-abuse services and campaign for change. Every day the NSPCC works to protect children and prevent abuse, as the effects are devastating. That’s why for as long as there is abuse, we will fight together to support and rebuild every childhood.’
